Privacy Policy

Last updated: May, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Predsmate AB ("we", "us", "the Company"), the provider of the Predsmate application ("the App"), collects, uses, and protects information when you use the App.

We are the data controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You can contact us using the details in Section 12.

We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, or precise location. However — unlike earlier versions of this policy — the App does process certain anonymous identifiers and technical data needed to make its features work. This policy describes exactly what, and why.

2. Information We Process

a) Anonymous identifiers

When you first open the App, it automatically creates one or more random, anonymous identifiers (technical IDs in UUID form) — one provided by our data backend (Supabase) and one by Google Firebase. These IDs are not linked to your real-world identity.

We use them to:

  • deliver the correct content to your device and enforce access rules;

  • link any purchase you make to your device (see (c));

  • store and sync your in-app preferences (see (d)).

These identifiers persist across app restarts and may persist across reinstalls until you clear the App's data.

b) Push notification token (only if you enable notifications)

If you turn on notifications, your device's push token (from Google Firebase Cloud Messaging) is stored so we can send you match updates and alerts for teams, competitions, or players you follow. You can stop this at any time by disabling notifications for the App in your device settings.

c) Purchase information

If you buy the Tournament Pass or any other in-app product, the purchase is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) and validated through RevenueCat. We and RevenueCat receive your anonymous identifier, the product purchased, the transaction/receipt status, and your entitlement (whether the Pass is active). We never receive or store your payment card details — those are handled solely by Apple or Google.

d) Your preferences (favorites)

Teams, competitions, and players you mark as favorites are stored on your device and synced to our backend (Google Firestore), keyed to your anonymous identifier, so they are available across sessions and devices.

e) Usage analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used (for example: screens viewed, features used, filters applied) so we can improve it. The user ID in analytics is explicitly set to null — analytics events are not tied to your name or email. Firebase also automatically collects standard technical data such as device model, operating system version, app version, and general region.

f) Technical and diagnostic data

To keep the App working and secure, we and our providers process technical data such as device type, operating system, app version, language, and basic crash or error information.

What we do not collect

  • No name, email, phone number, or postal address.

  • No precise (GPS) location.

  • No advertising identifier and no advertising/marketing tracking. On Android the advertising ID permission is explicitly removed; on iOS the App does not request tracking permission and does not use the advertising identifier.

3. Why We Process It (Legal Bases under GDPR)

- Performance of a contract — to deliver in-app purchases and the features you pay for (Section 2c).

- Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the App, including basic analytics and preference syncing (Sections 2a, 2d, 2e, 2f). We balance these against your privacy.

- Consent — for push notifications (Section 2b). You may withdraw consent at any time by disabling notifications.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell or trade your data. We share data only with the service providers (processors) that make the App work:

5. International Transfers

Some of these providers (e.g. Google, RevenueCat) may process data on servers outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Where that happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

6. Data Retention

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above: anonymous identifiers and preferences for as long as you use the App; purchase records for as long as required to provide the entitlement and to meet legal/accounting obligations; analytics data per Firebase's standard retention settings. You can remove locally stored data by clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App.

7. Your Rights

Subject to GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your data, and to data portability and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us (Section 12). Because our identifiers are anonymous, we may need additional information from you to locate the data associated with your device. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish data protection authority, the Integritetsskydds-myndigheten (IMY), or your local supervisory authority.

8. Children

The App provides sports analysis and betting-related predictions and is intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and you must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age for gambling-related services in your country, if higher) to use it. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Security

We and our providers use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take steps to safeguard the limited data we process.

10. Third-Party Content

The App may display odds from, or link to, third-party bookmakers and services. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
